Born and raised on the island of Crete, Irini moved to London in 1980 to begin a 30 year career in banking. Eventually swapping the city for the countryside of northern England, she rekindled her love for the fresh ingredients and the simplicity of preparation reminiscent of her childhood. Her passion for Greek cuisine – to which she brings her own unique twist – took her to the top spot in the UK’s MasterChef 2019. Her first book – Under the Olive Tree – was published in 2020 to rave reviews and established her success in the UK. Irini’s work has been recognised by Great British Chefs and to top it all, she is now a qualified Olive Oil Sommelier.
Born in Athens, Yiannis found his love of cooking during military service before going on to hone his skills in Greek and Mediterranean cuisine in prestigious kitchens across Greece and Europe. His impressive resume includes the Michelin-starred Quique Dacosta and Santo by Martin Berasategui in Spain and Konstantin Filippou in Vienna. In 2013 he became Chef de Cuisine of La Guérite Restaurant in Cannes France and has since opened two further La Gueritte restaurants. Yiannis is also the Executive / Consultant Chef of the Shellona Greek Restaurants in Saint Barthélemy, West Indies, and in Saint Tropez, France.
An original Corfiot, Alexandros trained at one of Athens’ leading chef schools before starting out on his culinary journey at restaurants in Greece and across Europe. It’s been a fantastic voyage that has taken him to Austria, France, Ireland and the UK – including stints at the Michelin-starred Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley and Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester. Eventually returning home, Alexandros’ passion for contemporary Greek cuisine is reflected in his role as Executive Chef at the MarBella Collection.
Following his graduation from one of the top hospitality schools in Athens, Christos went on to build his reputation at some of the best restaurants in Corfu. With a love of local ingredients always prominent in his menus, amongst many roles he was responsible for the kitchen team at the Grecotel Corfu Imperial’s fish restaurant. Always keen to expand his skills, he gained invaluable experience at the Michelin-starred Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley in London before taking charge as Head Chef at MarBella Nido.
